Kids Crossing 1

We love kids at CrossWalk! We have two very dedicated coordinators, Tamy Chapin and Claire Powell, who work hard to make Sunday mornings one of the most enjoyable experiences of each child’s week. Every Sunday, parents and kids start together in the worship area upstairs, and after singing a few songs our children are dismissed to go downstairs where every inch of space is dedicated to giving them a memorable experience.

We also have a free and staffed nursery downstairs for children age 0-3. You are welcome to drop off and pick up your infant or toddler anytime.

Here is what you and your children can expect in Kids Crossing:

FUN

We want church to be a fun experience for our kids. So Tamy, Claire, and our teachers work hard to create an environment that kids love from the moment they see it. There are games, puzzles, iPads, arts and crafts, stories, and, of course, learning centers set up in the downstairs area at Hillcrest Hall. Together, our children sing songs and hear stories from scripture while playing games and using their imaginations to make the story come alive. At the end of their time each week there’s a treasure box where each child picks a prize to take home.

CARE

We don’t just want our children to be “occupied,” we want them to be loved and filled with the sense of belonging. Our coordinators, teachers, and volunteers work hard to learn our children’s names, get to know their personality, and give intentional love to each child. We refuse to let our children be just another number; they will be known.

GROWTH

While a fun experience is a priority, it’s not the main goal. The goal is that our children will learn who Jesus is and how to live their lives for him in the context of the local church. Tamy and Claire and our teachers work through a curriculum in which our kids learn the stories of God, God’s people, and the life of Jesus. They instill both knowledge and values so that our children are given a solid foundation from which their faith can grow.
